Machete-wielding Florida man arrested after running from ‘road rage’ incident: LCSO

A Florida man has been arrested after deputies say he threatened a woman with a machete as a road rage incident escalated.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Phillip Mark Zmijewski was tailgating a driver and flashing his lights at her for several blocks before escalating at the intersection of Via Rapallo Drive and Via Villagio Parkways in Estero.

Deputies say Zmijewski got out of his vehicle at the intersection while swinging a machete and approached the victim, who feared for her life.
