Emergency crews airlifted a man who came into contact with a high voltage electrical line, according to Pasco Fire Rescue.

The accident was reported just after 4:00 p.m. in the 18000 block of Skinner Drive near the Pasco and Hernando County line.

Fire officials say the man was about three stories up trimming trees in a bucket truck outside of his girlfriend's house when he came into contact with the power lines.

When medics arrived, they found the victim with severe burns, but he was conscious and breathing.

Luke Kilmer, the home owner's nephew, says he had to use a ladder to rescue him from the lift before emergency crews could arrive.

"He was sitting and moaning for a while and we didn't really know that it was him hurt," Kilmer explained. "We thought he was just tired because the chainsaw kept going."

The man was  airlifted to Tampa General Hospital with severe electrical burns.
