TAMPA - Online threats aimed at the Hillsborough County Courthouse have resulted in an arrest, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
What we know
Investigators say 46-year-old Adam Robitaille was arrested after a concerned citizen sent in a tip regarding a threatening post on social media on Jan. 6.

HCSO detectives launched an investigation into Robitaille, and he admitted to making the threats out of frustration. He has since deleted the posts.

Sheriff Chad Chronister says that he takes these threats very seriously, and he is thankful that the concerned citizen had the awareness to report the post.
"Our community's safety is our highest priority, and we take any threat—whether made in frustration or otherwise—extremely seriously," said Chronister. "I commend the concerned citizen who reported this and our detectives for acting swiftly to prevent what could have been a tragedy. This incident serves as a reminder that words have consequences, and our office will continue to be vigilant in protecting the people of Hillsborough County."
Robitaille has been charged with one count of written or electronic threat to kill or cause bodily injury.
This case remains under investigation.
