Man killed in hit-and-run, Tampa police searching for driver
TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa police are searching for a driver who they say took off after hitting and killing a man late Wednesday night.
Officers found the man's body after responding around 11 p.m. along West Gandy Blvd., just east of the Gandy Bridge.
Police say the victim, whose name was not released, was walking along the road when he was hit.
A man was hit and killed while walking along Gandy Boulevard late Wednesday. Tampa police say the driver took off.
Access to the Pinellas County side of the bridge was closed until early Thursday while police investigated.
Police have not released a description of the vehicle that hit the man.
