PHOENIX (KSAZ) - What was that?!
A bright flash from a possible meteor lit up the valley sky just before 4 a.m. on Thursday morning and now the question remains: What was it?
Phone calls flooded the Fox 10 newsroom right after the flash and many have reported to us that they saw the flash from all over Arizona, and even in Las Vegas. Many people across the state have shared pictures and video over social media, showing what appears to be a meteor falling in the sky.
A video sent to us from the Roosevelt School District in Phoenix gives us a great view of the suspected meteor.
The suspected meteor was even captured on video in Snowflake, Arizona!
Even a former Arizona Cardinals' player got into the fun by sharing his video of the object with us!
Whatever it was, it's left trails of smoke, streaking across the valley sky.
NASA believes that the sighting was a meteor that burned up in the atmosphere, breaking into several pieces.
