Milwaukee bus driver heralded as hero for helping lost boy

A bus driver is being heralded as a hero after he spotted a 2-year-old boy walking alone in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee County Transit System said driver Duane Butler saw the child all alone at about 6:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July and stopped his bus.

A passenger got off the bus to check on the boy and the child told him he was lost.

The passenger brought the child onto the bus and comforted him as Butler called the police.

Officers arrived and took the boy by his hand and they went door-to-door looking for his home.

The boy had slipped out of his home while his family was sleeping, according to officials.

Thanks to the quick thinking of Butler, the youngster was reunited with a very grateful mother.
