Missing boater was last seen Monday at Englewood marina

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. (FOX 13) - Officials are searching for a missing Sarasota County man after his boat was found offshore, and empty.

Detectives said 50-year-old Todd Battaglino last communicated with his family on Monday around 3 p.m. and was last seen at the Royal Marina in Englewood.

He was reported missing just after noon on Tuesday. His boat was located about 15 miles offshore. 

Battaglinois described as an avid boater who often takes his 20-foot boat offshore for fun. Officials with the U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife, and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office continue to search for him Wednesday.
