'Mob' takes over Orange County intersection, starts fire, damages cars: 'Reckless and violent'

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is searching for individuals involved in a street takeover that occurred on Nov. 30.

The incident was captured on video and posted by the sheriff's office. It is said to have occurred at the intersection of South John Young Parkway and Central Florida Parkway, near Williamsburg in south Orlando. Deputies say approximately 30 people gathered, setting a fire in the middle of the intersection and performing burnouts.

"The situation escalated as participants harassed innocent drivers, blocked them from passing, and in some cases, climbed on and damaged vehicles," the sheriff's office wrote in a social media post. "This reckless and violent behavior poses a serious danger to our community, and we are committed to holding those responsible accountable."

Participants caused damage by stomping on car windshields, including a vehicle with a mother and baby inside, according to deputies. Multiple vehicles were damaged in the incident, but no injuries were reported.

The sheriff’s office urges anyone who recognizes individuals from the scene to contact Crimeline at (800) 423-TIPS (8477), or the Sheriff’s Office directly.
