$1.7M of cocaine found on Florida beach after falling off someone's boat, deputies say

A Florida fisherman found quite a catch while off the coast of Florida – nearly 55 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $1.7 million, according to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

The drugs were individually wrapped in watertight packages and branded with a black, bold scorpion – insignia of the drug cartel, BCSO said in its Facebook post.

"If you happened to have lost or misplaced approximately 25 kilos of cocaine and would like to have your property returned, please contact our Narcotics Agents and we will be more than happy to reunite you with your lost property!!" BCSO said in a cheeky post.

"The lost items were thankfully discovered by a fisherman who in an effort to do the right thing contacted our agency, so wanting to pay it forward we feel it’s important to try and identify the rightful owner of the property!! I mean it’s the very least we can do, especially since it has a street value of roughly 1.7 million dollars!!"

The agency even promised to keep the owner and the drugs "in a secure area so that no one can try to rip you off." The agency also said it would throw in an all-expense paid "staycation" at "Ivey's Iron Bar Lodge," referring to the Brevard County Jail.

Those who have any information on the investigation should contact the Brevard County Sheriff's Office at (321) 264-5201.
