CLEARWATER (FOX 13) - Clearwater police officers are investigating a crash that happened on the Memorial Causeway on Sunday.
The incident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. at the Island Way intersection on Memorial Causeway.
According to police, an eastbound SUV attempted to turn left onto Island Way. The vehicle turned in the path of an oncoming westbound motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, 29-year-old Mahmoud Sousi, was airlifted to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg in critical condition, officials said.
The eastbound lanes of the causeway were shut down after the crash, but they have since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
