Deadly crash slows traffic on I-275 near downtown during rush hour

TAMPA, Fla. - Several lanes of I-275 in downtown Tampa are closed following a deadly crash Friday afternoon.

It happened in the northbound lanes of I-275 just north of the Ashley Drive entrance ramp.

Few details have been released, and it is unknown how many vehicles were involved or how many people were killed or injured in the crash.

Tampa Fire Rescue says motorists should expect delays in the area. They did not say when the crash would be cleared.
