Oscar Mayer's 'Wienermobile' cruises into Bay Area

Oscar Mayer’s famous Wienermobile has cruised into the Bay Area, and fans of the famous hot dog-themed bus are lining up for a chance to take their photo with it.

"I’ve seen the Wienermobile!" Dennis Pyeatt said, grinning from ear to ear.

Pyeatt says it was a lifelong dream to see the Wienermobile.

"I’ve waited all my life. Almost 60 or 70 years? I was about seven or eight, so it’ll be about 62 years I’ve waited to see this," Pyeatt said.

The Wienermobile is in the Tampa area for the next few days. 

After Thursday's stop in Lakewood Ranch, the bus will be on display again on Friday from Lakewood Ranch in the parking lot of a Publix located at 8131 Lakewood Main St from 4:30-8 p.m.

After that, the bus will move to the Brandon Parade of Lights on Oakfield Drive in Brandon, where it will be on display for fans to come and take pictures from 5:30-8 p.m.

The Wienermobile’s final day in the Bay Area will be Saturday, Dec. 15, displayed at the Davis Islands Golf Cart Parade on 864 Severn Avenue in Tampa from 5-8 p.m.

Fans of the Wienermobile can take pictures with the Wienermobile, sing the old Oscar Mayer jingles, and get a free whistle from one of the Wienermobile ‘Hot Doggers’ who runs the bus.

Coop Dawg, the ‘Hot Dogger’ running the Bay Area Wienermobile over the next few days, says that Wienermobile inspires a sense of nostalgia from the fans that come out to see it.

"There's so many people with their I remember when moments. And we love to hear those stories all the time. It's not only fun that we get to hear those, we get implant those for future generations of hot dogs and people alike," Dawg said.
