Homicide suspect found dead after shooting at deputies

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - A man suspected in a homicide is dead, possibly from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco.

Nocco said his deputies were assisting another agency with serving a warrant at a home on Ruth Avenue Friday morning when the subject involved in the warrant, Alfredo Luis Rodriguez, 31, fired shots at deputies. Deputies returned fire, according to Nocco.

Pasco Sheriff: Zephyrhills deputy-involved shooting
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco along with FDLE and Tampa police officials gave an update after a deputy-involved shooting Friday.
After a period of time, law enforcement entered the home and found Rodriguez dead from what Nocco said was a bullet to the head.
Part of the investigation will determine if that gunshot was self-inflicted or by law enforcement.
Nocco said Rodriguez had a lengthy criminal record.
Officials would not elaborate what homicide Rodriguez was suspected in.
