Many people gathered to demonstrate their opposition to the Trump presidency and election results throughout the area on Sunday in peaceful protests.

In Tampa, some gathered in response to the division and the protests coming out of the election in hopes of bringing unity. It was an early evening gathering of a small group at the Water Works Park that filled the night with candlelight. Later, Sunday night St. Pete Police estimated about 500 people were protesting at a march from Demen’s Landing to Central Avenue.

Also, Sunday night at 9:30 pm another similar protest sponsored by members of the LGBT community is expected to begin at Central Avenue in St. Pete as well.
