After several different phases of COVID-19 vaccine rollout, all adults in Pinellas County are now eligible for the vaccine.
Floridians have any different vaccine options available to them, from federal sites to county- and state-run locations, and many commercial providers. Some locations don’t even require an appointment anymore.
To get a vaccine appointment:
Residents must first create an account at www.patientportalfl.com and then select an available time. Creating an account does not guarantee availability for this round of appointments. There will be no vaccines for residents without appointments, and there is no waiting list.
Patients must show proof of Florida residency to receive a vaccine. Examples include: a valid Florida Drivers License, state issued ID, deed, or utility bill with the patient's name and address. Part-time residents will be asked to provide part-time rental agreement.
Those without internet access or who need assistance with the portal can call (844) 770-8548. The call center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can provide guidance in English and Spanish. Any resident with the ability to access the internet is strongly encouraged to use the online portal, as phone wait times can be lengthy.
Notifications of new vaccine appointment openings in Pinellas will not be available through sign ups on the patient portal. Residents are asked to check the website, Facebook and Twitter for regular updates and future vaccine availability.
Appointments will be scheduled at sites in various parts of the county. Details about access to the vaccine distribution sites will be given to residents upon appointment confirmation. Appointments for the required second dose can be made at the time of scheduling.
Family members must sign up and register individually for appointments.
Additional information can be found on the Department of Health in Pinellas County's website.
Walk-up site
The Florida Department of Emergency Management is also running a walk-up vaccination site at The Centre at Palm Harbor (1500 16th St, Palm Harbor, FL
34683) from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) until at least March 27. Public sites operated by the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas and Pinellas County Government are adding new first dose appointments each week at three sites as additional shipments are received from the state.
Statewide preregistration system
The state of Florida is offering a statewide registration system to help schedule COVID-19 vaccines. Residents can pre-register for vaccine appointments and be notified when appointments are available in their area by:
- Internet: Visiting myvaccine.fl.gov
- Phone: Call your local county number listed on this page.
Private retailers offering vaccines in Florida
These businesses are offering COVID-19 vaccines at some of their locations in Florida. They generally follow the guidelines laid out by Gov. DeSantis, but you need to register separately for an appointment with the retailer directly, separate from any state or county registration. Click on a link below for more information.
Federal vaccine sites
Federal vaccine sites in Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville are open until at least May 26 as part of a partnership with FEMA, the Department of Defense, and state health offices. Click here for specific locations.
According to the governor’s office, each site administers up to 2,000 vaccines per day, seven days a week. Each location will also support two smaller, mobile satellite sites that will each deliver 500 vaccinations per day in underserved areas. They use the existing myvaccine.fl.gov registration system.
The FEMA sites follow President Joe Biden's guidelines, meaning teachers, school staff, and daycare workers of all ages are eligible.
