Police chase stolen armored vehicle around Richmond

Onlookers took video as an armored vehicle was chased through Richmond, Virginia Tuesday evening.

It was reportedly stolen from Fort Pickett in Nottoway County, according to the NBC12.

The armored personnel carrier led dozens of police through downtown city streets.

Although the vehicle looks like it might be a tank, officials from Fort Pickett told local media the vehicle was not equipped with any type of firearm or weapon.  

NBC12 reported that the driver surrendered to police after the chase, which sparked surprise and alarm among social media users in Richmond.
