Port Orange boy, 8, dies in accidental shooting

PORT ORANGE, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A Port Orange boy, age 8, has died after accidentally shooting himself with a gun, authorities said.

Police said it happened in the 800 block of Hudson Lane at around noon, when the boy was home with another child and one adult.  

It happened in kitchen of the home. The boy's 12-year-old brother performed CPR for 11 minutes on his sibling. The boy was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Police have not yet said what type of firearm was involved or how the boy got ahold of it.
