ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - The future home of the St. Pete Police Department is currently under construction, but the work has not gone exactly as planned.
In April, a crane came toppling down. Luckily, no one was hurt.
Weeks later, a concrete panel fell from a crane as well.
Now, the roof has sprung a leak, according to report.
In a statement, the city of St. Pete says:
"We expect the construction manager to fully correct this issue in a manner acceptable to the city and at no cost to the city. The city will not accept a building that fails to comply with contractual specifications."
City officials are not saying much else, just in case this ends up in court.
Responding to our questions, the construction company, AJAX Building Corp says as of Wednesday, the roof is watertight but is still a few months from being finished.
They say it will not cost the city anything and will not affect the completion date, which is scheduled for the spring of 2019.
