Suspect in custody after robbing Bradenton bank, fleeing on foot: Police

A man accused of robbing a bank in Bradenton Thursday morning is in custody, according to police. 

Around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, investigators say Jaquez Deon Barnes, 23, robbed Regions Bank at 5009 Manatee Ave. E. (SR-64). Police said the suspect didn't display a weapon but passed a note to a teller demanding money. 

The man left on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, according to officials. No one was injured in the incident.

Police announced Barnes will be taken to the Manatee County Jail.

Several customers were in the bank during the robbery, according to officers.

The Bradenton Police Department describes the suspect who they believe to be Barnes, as a black male in his mid-to-late 20s with a thin build. He was wearing pink pants and a gray sweater, according to BPD.

Police say the suspect had long, black hair, that may have been a wig.
