Safety Harbor parade marks nine years

SAFETY HARBOR (FOX 13) - The city of Safety Harbor celebrated an extra-special Independence Day on Tuesday.  The parade down Main Street marked not only the country’s birthday, but the city’s centennial as well.

Parade organizer Ruth Burgess explained that the parade has gotten bigger each year over the last nine years.

“The first year of the parade I had more people in the parade than I had watching,” she said.  “So now to see this crowd, it's unbelievable. It's really grown and we're really proud of it."
