Sandhill crane goes into mother-mode, intimidates alligator

LAND O' LAKES, Fla. (FOX 13) - Parents can be fierce protectors of their offspring, and out in nature, it’s no different.

Kate Bolton captured video of a very brief showdown between a sandhill crane and an alligator. 

“Mama sandhill crane scares alligator into water,” Bolton wrote in her Twitter post. “Don’t mess with her babies.”

The moment took place in Land O’ Lakes. In the video, it shows the crane expanding its wings as it bravely approaches the alligator, which quickly shuffled back into a canal.
