Fifteen days of worrying, wondering, and not sleeping have taken their toll on Tawana Spann.

"I feel like I'm numb sometimes. I feel like even in a room full of people there's nobody around me," Spann said.

Her son, 14-year-old Jabez Spann hasn't been seen since late September 4. He was last at his grandmother's house in the Newtown area of Sarasota.

Jabez is now listed as endangered on FDLE's statewide missing persons alert website.

Sarasota police say he's been off social media. A ping to his phone and multiple searches have yielded no results.

"It is very rare. You're not going to find a child that doesn't want to be on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat in a two-week frame," Spann said.

At a press conference Monday, police expressed concern for the boy and said they believed the community has information as to his whereabouts.

Until she has answers, Spann can't help but run through the worst case scenarios in her head.

She's heard so many rumors.

"There's rumors that he might have been a witness to a violent crime," she told FOX 13.

She doesn't know what to believe. Police won't comment on rumors. What they need right now are tips from neighbors.

"At the end of the day, if anybody has done anything to him, he's a human being," Spann said.

Police haven't ruled out foul play but say - at this point -  there's no evidence to suggest it.
