Skydiver injured at Skydive City in Zephyrhills
ZEPHYRHILLS (FOX 13) - The woman injured in a skydiving accident in Zephyrhills Wednesday afternoon was conscious and alert as she was airlifted to the hospital, officials said.
It happened at Skydive City in Pasco County.
FOX 13's Dan Matics reports Zephyrhills police were dispatched to the scene just before noon after a parachutist made a hard landing.
The woman's name has not been released.
She was apparently trying a swooping technique over a pond of water, but she came in low and made a hard impact with the water, Pasco County Fire Rescue officials say.
She was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Hospital with unknown injuries.
It’s the third incident in the last month at the Zephyrhills business, and police said they responded to Skydive City nine times this year, with one fatal accident in January.
