What we know:

The Manatee County Public Information Officer, Randy Warren, says two people inside the plane were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies discovered 70-year-old John Sikirica in the front seat and 86-year-old Allen Maxwell in the back seat.

Maxwell climbed out of the plane and North River Fire Rescue personnel helped to get the pilot out of the wreckage.

Both men received medical attention at the scene and were later airlifted to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told investigators that they saw the plane losing power as it took off from the ground, before it veered off-course and hit the power line.

Warren says the two-seater plane is an Aeronca Champ.

The windshield of the pickup truck is broken and there is also some damage to the car next to it, according to investigators.
