Spider blamed for Ohio rollover crash

Reports from Ohio say a driver cited a spider as the cause of a car crash in the Dayton area this morning.

According to WHIO-TV, the crash was reported around 7:45 a.m. Friday.  The Honda veered off the road and ended up on its side in the middle of a field after the driver was apparently distracted by the arachnid.

Police told the station that no one was injured in the crash.  However, there was no word on the condition of the spider.

It's not the first time that panic over a spider has led to a dangerous situation.  Back in September, a Michigan driver started a blaze at a gas station while trying to kill a spider in his car with a cigarette lighter.

And last November, reports of a woman screaming brought police in Australia to what they thought was a domestic disturbance, only to find a sheepish man had, in fact, been yelling at a spider.
