Young patients at Tampa General Hospital got to see something the probably didn't even imagine existed Thursday: A therapy unicorn!

He even wears shoes to keep from slipping on the tile floor.

"Spirit" the unicorn is part of a group called the "Horses of Unicorn Hugs." They visit hospitals and nursing homes free of charge with the therapy-trained team, and also perform at Renaissance festivals on the weekends.

Spirit brought the children magic, some much-needed laughs, and the children made wishes on the unicorn horn. "It's pretty amazing," said Amber Gardner, whose son was in the hospital for a surgery from out of state. "I think it's really good for all these kids," she said, with tears in her eyes.

You can find out more about them on their Facebook page "I Saw A Unicorn."
