St. Pete to begin final pass for storm debris collection next week

Months after Hurricanes Helene and Milton led to an unprecedented effort to clean up storm debris, the City of St. Petersburg announced crews will begin their final pass next Friday, Jan. 3.

What to know about debris pickup

Officials are asking all residents to place their remaining debris in the city's right of way by Jan. 3.

Items should be separated into the following groups:

  • Vegetative debris: Branches, leaves, logs, and plants
  • Fencing materials: Fences knocked over during the storm
  • Electronics: Computers, televisions, and other devices
  • Appliances: Air conditioners, dishwashers, washers and dryers, stoves, refrigerators, water heaters
  • Construction materials: building materials, carpet, drywall, furniture, lumber, plumbing

The city is also reminding everyone to not leave debris in the street, on sidewalks or in alleyways, and not to put debris in trash bags.
