St. Pete siblings found after Amber Alert

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - Two St. Petersburg siblings have been found in north Florida, just hours after an Amber Alert was issued.

Police said the children, Dorian and Frederick Sandhu, were living with their maternal grandparents on 3rd Street S. Their mother, Gigi Ulrich-Woodard Sandhu, 46, was only supposed to have supervised visits, but police said she left with the children and police were concerned that they were in danger.

An Amber Alert was issued around 1 p.m. with a warning that they could be heading north.

Just before 5 p.m., police say the children were found, along with their mother, in Madison, Florida, which is in north Florida, east of Tallahassee.  All were safe.

"Amber Alert worked. Thank you," SPPD said in a tweet.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, two utility workers from out of state were staying at a motel in Madison when they received the Amber Alert on their phones. They remembered seeing a car matching the description in the parking lot, then went outside and confirmed it was indeed the car police were looking for.

The workers called 911 and the sheriffs office went to the motel to investigate. That's when they took Gigi inti custody and found the children, along with a pet monkey and what they descriibed as "a male acquaintance."

SPPD detectives are  driving to north Florida to question them.
