Stormy night makes for soggy morning

Floridians are spending this morning trying to dry out after a storm night and a soggy commute, thanks to Tropical Storm Colin.  Many roads around the Bay Area are closed and could remain that way as showers continue to train through in Colin's wake.

Most of the affected areas are the usual flooding trouble spots.  Several intersections in South Tampa were flooded out, with only some lanes passable.  Stretches of Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa were also closed.

Across the bay, neighborhoods in Shore Acres were also dealing with street flooding.  Residents and businesses there were asking drivers to slow down in hopes of keeping water confined to the streets.

A portion of historic St. Pete High School was closed off to students on their last day of school after part of the building flooded.  Schools were still open across Pinellas County and throughout the Bay Area, despite the blustery morning and flood warnings.

The Sunshine Skyway Bridge remains closed due to high winds.

FOX 13 meteorologist Dave Osterberg says the rain will eventually taper off as Colin continues to move out over the Atlantic, but rain -- possibly training over the same areas at times -- remains in the forecast for the day.
