Get ready to see some incredible – and sandy – creations on Clearwater Beach.

The popular Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival begins Friday, April 12 and runs through April 28. This year’s theme is “Sea the World, A Journey Around the Globe.” Many of the sculptures are celebrating famous landmarks, which will be designed by some world-class artists.

“It’s just really exciting seeing the sand being brought to life,” said founder Lisa Chandler.

There will also be live music and a Ferris wheel, which is a new addition to the festival. Tickets start at $10 for adults and $8 for children. Discounts are available for seniors, military personnel, first responders and teachers.

The tented and shaded exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., except on Sundays when it is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
