CLEARWATER - A Bay Area hospital has become a safe haven for pets who no longer have safe places to live following Hurricane Michael.
Sunshine Animal Hospital workers have rescued dozens of animals from an animal shelter in Georgia. According to the hospital, the shelter in Albany reached out to them this weekend with a plea for help.
They were housing hundreds of animals with limited resources and no running water. So, workers with the Clearwater hospital loaded up transport vehicles and went to bring back 22 dogs and 27 cats. The shelter is seeking out foster homes to adopt these animals.
Anyone interested in becoming a foster family can find additional information on the Sunshine Animal Hospital website.
