Super Bowl watch party in Tampa brings excitement for hundreds of fans

The Sparkman Wharf Verizon Super Bowl FanFest in Tampa brought in an array of fans on Sunday night. Event organizers estimate 900 people attended.

Chiefs fans like Lisa Harden hoped for a three-peat.

"Hang tight…pray. They’re going to get this. They’re going to win hopefully," she said.

But Birds fans like Hoskins ultimately got their way. Hoskins said he's a fan of the Eagles because of his brother.

"He’s sick so he couldn’t make it, so I came on out. I just FaceTimed him awhile to see how he’s feeling," he said.

New York Giants fan Chris Schmidt attended the FanFest to spend quality time with his family.

"I love it. I’ve never been to a Fan Fest before. I actually won by accident. I saw it on my Verizon thing and was like, ‘alright let me try it," he said, "I’d rather this just be a really great game between two good teams."

Schmidt said he felt partial to the Eagles.

"I’m mostly rooting for Saquon Barkley, being a Giants fan, but other than that, I think it will be a good game," he explained.

The event featured games, giveaways, free bowling at Splitsville, meal vouchers, and the opportunity to meet Tampa Bay Buccaneers players.
