CLEARWATER (FOX 13) - A drug ring was busted and 22 suspects arrested Friday by Pinellas County sheriff's deputies.
Detectives with the sheriff's office said a total of 58 charges resulted from the raid, which was part of a 5-month investigation called "Operation End of the Roadway."
Officers targeted a group suspected of dealing drugs from the Rodeway Inn hotel at 16405 U.S. Highway 19 in Clearwater and at the Rodeway Inn hotel located at 28596 U.S. Highway 19, also in Clearwater.
The investigation began in January, 2016, when narcotics detectives said they noticed an uptick in calls from the two Rodeway Inn locations.
Detectives said they began tracking the drug activity at the hotels and undercover officers engaged 34 suspects in illegal activity, including buying or selling a .22 caliber revolver, cocaine, crystal meth, heroin, LSD, marijuana, morphine and Xanax. Transactions totaled almost $11,000.
The suspects arrested during "Operation End of the Road" are listed below, with charges. They were all transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
