Suspected Tally Ho Bar shooter arrested after New Year's Day violence

An arrest has been made following the deadly New Year's Eve shooting at the Tally Ho Bar Lounge & Grill, according to local authorities.

A joint operation between the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office ended with the arrest of 39-year-old Curtis Williams.

Williams was arrested in Pinellas Park without incident. He has been charged with murder in the first degree and possession of a firearm with a felony.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister pointed to the collaboration of all the law enforcement agencies involved.

"Our detectives worked seamlessly with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to bring this suspect into custody following a tragic shooting on New Year's Day," said Chronister. "This arrest highlights the dedication of our deputies and detectives, as well as the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies. We remain steadfast in our commitment to seeking justice for those affected by senseless acts of violence and ensuring the safety and security of our communities."

The victim was 45-year-old Joseph Reese. Deputies responded to the bar and found Reese with at least one gunshot wound, and he was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
