TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Tampa Bay Times has purchased the Tampa Tribune, according to a release from the Times.
The release says the transition will give the locally-owned newspaper "solid financial footing."
The Times said it would honor advertising and subscriptions of both papers, and Tribune subscribers will begin receiving the Times Wednesday, May 4.
Additionally, both websites, tampabay.com and tbo.com, would be maintained. However, tbo.com was being temporarily redirected to tampabay.com while the website was being reworked, according to the Times' website.
