Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team needs new location
OLDSMAR (FOX 13) - The Tampa Bay Water Ski Show Team has been thrown into a sudden lurch and is scrambling to find a new place to perform.
For 25 years, the non-profit team has been put on weekly performances at Lake Tower on Burbank Road.
The property owner, Castle Crown recently notified them their lease would not be renewed. They have until the end of the year to find a new location.
"The future is at stake and hopefully we will find a place," said Peter Fernandez, who has been a member since the 90s.
Castle Crown has allowed the team to use the lake at no cost, as long as they maintained it.
The team hopes to secure another location with a similar arrangement.
Performances are free and open to the public and they hope to keep it that way.
"Whatever we collect, it goes right back into the club to keep it going another week," said Fernandez. "The show will go on. We'll put it on somewhere in the community."
Anyone who would like to recommend a location is encouraged to contact the team through its website www.tampawaterski.com.
