Tampa leaders vote down police body camera deal

Members of Tampa's city council were expected to vote to buy new body cameras, Tasers and other equipment for the police department; a $7 million total purchase. However, leaders decided Thursday the price tag was too high.

They did vote to purchase more Tasers, but not the body cameras.

The Tampa Police Department says 650 tasers were approved by Tampa City Council, costing $2.2 million, for 5 years.
