Tampa police search for hit-and-run driver

TAMPA (FOX 13) - As Charles Edward Slater crossed the roadway at 2nd Avenue and 25th Street this morning, a driver struck him and fled the scene.
Tampa Police officers responded along with paramedics from Tampa Fire Department, but Slater died from his injuries.
The police department is searching for the suspect vehicle, but for now, there are no witnesses and the make and model of the vehicle are unknown.
The car would have sustained some damage consistent with striking Slater, and the Tampa Police are asking that anyone with any information contact them or Crime Stoppers.
