TAMPA, Fla. - A teenager is in critical condition after being shot at a South Tampa apartment complex.
It happened just before 9 a.m. on Friday at the Arbor Flats complex at the 6200 block of S. Manhattan Ave.
"It's so sad," said Cecilia Finneran, a neighbor at the complex. "This is supposed to be the best time of their lives, going through high school."
Investigators said a fight occurred between a group of male and female juveniles when the shooting occurred.

"You are near students and near schools and you are in an apartment complex where people are leaving to go to work," said TPD spokesperson Jamel Lanee. "It is clearly very concerning that a shooting would happen."
Neighbors say they weren't sure evawhether the victim lived here, or whether she was supposed to be on her way to school.
"I own guns. But gun violence is getting ridiculous," said a neighbor named Tracy, who declined to give his last name. "We have to do something, with kids, especially."
The school district could not yet say whether the victim is a student at Robinson or any other school.
