15-year-old dies in St. Pete shooting

FOX 13's Briona Arradondo reports on the status of an investigation by the St. Petersburg Police Department of a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy dead.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A 15-year-old boy is dead after a shooting outside a St. Petersburg apartment complex Wednesday evening. 

Officers with the St. Pete Police Department said they are investigating the shooting, which happened at 11850 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street North. It's the location of the TGM Bay Isle apartment complex. 

Authorities said the 15-year-old boy was found by officers with a gunshot wound at the scene. 

He was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the police department. 

St. Pete police are working to piece together what led to the shooting and will be canvassing the area throughout the night.
