SIESTA KEY (FOX 13) - A truck smashed through the side of the Lobster Pot restaurant on Siesta Key July 4th morning, causing a lot of damage.
Thankfully, the restaurant on Ocean Boulevard in Sarasota was closed when it happened, so no one was inside to be in the truck's path.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say it appears the driver of the white pickup truck had a medical episode. His truck jumped the curb and went into the glass front of the restaurant.
The driver was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
