Video: 4 teens arrested for stealing cars, BPD says. Here are the vehicles thieves are targeting
BRADENTON, Fla. - Bradenton police are putting out a warning to Kia and Hyundai owners, including sharing video they say shows teens driving stolen vehicles.
BPD says four teens face charges of motor vehicle theft and attempted motor vehicle theft.
Police also say 12 thefts and 14 attempted thefts of Kia and Hyundai models have been reported in Bradenton since August.
Which vehicles face the highest risk of theft?
According to BPD, 2011-21 Kias and 2015-21 Hyundais are at risk because they don't have an anti-theft device known as an immobilizer, which prevents a car from starting when someone uses a key that doesn't match the car.
