High-speed pursuit ends in Hillsborough County

The Florida Highway Patrol released dashcam video showing the end of a pursuit that troopers say reached speeds of 140 mph.

RIVERVIEW, Fla. - Two men face criminal charges after leading troopers on a high-speed chase at speeds of up to 140 mph, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the chase began early Sunday when the SUV was clocked at 110 mph, then reached 140 mph during the pursuit.

Dashcam video released by FHP shows the suspects, later identified as a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old from St. Petersburg, exiting I-75 at Big Bend Rd. in Riverview.

Moments later, a PIT maneuver brought the SUV to a stop, leading to the suspects' arrests.

FHP said the suspects, whose names were not released, face charges of grand theft along with fleeing and eluding.
