Video: Rescuers save lost hiker at state park in Hillsborough County

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office released video showing first responders rescuing a hiker who got lost on Sunday.

What we know:

According to HCSO, dispatchers received a call from the lost hiker around 1 p.m. Sunday at Little Manatee River State Park.

The sheriff's office used a helicopter to find the hiker, then lowered a rescuer to the ground to take the hiker to safety.

The hiker was treated by Hillsborough County Fire Rescue for minor abrasions and dehydration, HCSO said.

HCSO did not release further details on the person rescued.

"The rescue today is what we train for. Our sections worked seamlessly together to locate and get this hiker to safety quickly in what otherwise could have been a very dire situation," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. "We're grateful for a successful outcome."
