MORRO BAY, Calif. - A tiny sea otter pup was reunited with her mother inside Morro Bay.
Trained responders from the Marine Mammal Center's San Luis Obispo hospital were called on May 26th regarding a 2-day-old otter who had drifted from her mother during a strong incoming tide.
Biologists were quickly able to retrieve the pup near North T Pier.
The pup appeared to be healthy so biologists took her into Morro Bay and presented her to numerous adult female otters until one responded to the pup's vocalizations and swam over to the boat.
Biologists then tossed the pup into the water where the grateful mother retrieved it and swam away.
