Video: Week-old puppies rescued from crawl space under Florida home
TAMPA, Fla. - A litter of puppies and their mother are safe after Hillsborough County Animal Control officers rescued them from the crawl space under a vacant home.
Bodycam video shows the response to the home on Wednesday morning after the county got a call about a dog under the house. County officials did not release the location of the home.
Officers removed the dog from underneath the home, and that's when they discovered five puppies believed to be about a week old.
Animal Control took mom and her puppies to the Pet Resource Center. From there, they'll be turned over to a pet rescue group.
The puppies will need to be with their mother for a few more weeks since they are not weaned yet, county officials said.
