CARNELIAN BAY, Calif. (FOX 13) - A deputy in Carnelian Bay, California made a daring save this week.
Placer County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Lade rescued a bear that trapped itself inside a car parked near Lake Tahoe.
The Placer Co. Sheriff's Office posted a video of the rescue taken by the deputy's dash camera.
Deputy lade said the bear got into a Subaru Outback but couldn't get himself out.
The bear destroyed the interior so badly that the doors couldn’t be unlocked, so Deputy Lade had to improvise.
"It was decided the safest way to get the bear out of the car was to break the window," the sheriff's office wrote on Facebook. "Deputy Lade was brave enough to break the window, allowing the bear to jump out and flee into the forest."
