Water main break on Treasure Island
TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. (FOX 13) - A water main break flooded several blocks in Treasure Island early Wednesday, shutting down a section of the Treasure Island Causeway.
Officials say a 12 inch pipe failed sending water into the streets.
Crews have been able to clean up the water, but 107th Avenue is closed at the Causeway and traffic to the island is being detoured while crews work to repair the pipe.
Several nearby businesses had to close because traffic is shut down in the area.
Traffic in the lanes leaving Treasure Island was not affected by the road closure.
It's unclear what caused the water main break. Residents in the surrounding area may experience low water pressure, but no boil water advisory has been issued.
