Death investigation underway after boater spots woman floating in Gulf: Police
CLEARWATER, Fla. - Clearwater police are conducting a death investigation after they say a woman was pulled from the Gulf on Friday afternoon.
What we know:
Clearwater police and Clearwater Fire and Rescue responded to a water rescue after they said a boater found a woman floating in the water shortly before 2:30 p.m.
Police say the woman was brought to shore and first responders performed CPR on her.

She was taken to Morton Plant Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
What we don't know:
Police have not released any details about what may have led up to the woman’s death.
They also have not said how far offshore the boater was when they found her.
