Paul A. Weddle has lived in Dunwoody, Georgia since 1966, but more than a hundred years ago he was born in Blacksburg, Virginia. He joined the military after graduating high school in 1937 and served in various branches eventually enlisting in the Army. He eventually was a commissioned an officer and retired as Lieutenant Colonel in 1968 with more than 30 years of service and 25 military decorations and six battle stars for combat service.
He then joined HUD in Atlanta where he served the public with distinction for another 15 years until he retired on March 31, 1983.
Sadly, he lost his wife shortly before their 50th wedding anniversary, but after a short time found love again. His family said he courted Marjorie Bowser for nearly 28 years meeting for breakfast in the morning and then again for dinner while living apart until last April when they decided to formalize their relationship.
The couple will be receiving family, friends, and former colleagues this weekend. People from all walks of lives will be coming from as far away as California for his birthday celebration.
